新加坡小学教育在世界上独树一帜，扎实的基础教育与双语应用教育方式受到很多国家学生的青睐。那么，几岁去新加坡读小学好？
一般来说，孩子去新加坡读小学满6周岁的学生（入学当年1月1日，超过年龄必须参加新加坡AEIS考试），可以不需要考试而直接进入新加坡政府小学一年级，孩子可以在全年任何时间申请新加坡政府小学一年级的入学。
另外，低龄留学新加坡还有一条免试入学渠道：即孩子如果在新加坡读了幼儿园，幼儿园读完后，如果政府学校有足够的名额，也可以免去参加考试升入小学。
新加坡小学的申请条件
小学一年级：年龄在6-7岁之间（不超过7岁），可以直接入学。如果年龄大于7岁要进行学校的入学测试，通过即可入学。
小学二年级：年龄6-8岁；
小学三年级：年龄7-9岁；
小学四年级：年龄8-10岁；
小学五年级：年龄11-13岁。
新加坡的小学有六年，毕业班是不允许插班考试的。申请二年级到五年级的学生需要参加入学QT或AEIS考试，然后读预备班，最后入读小学，一般是需要降级的。
新加坡小学插班申请要求
新加坡政府小学二年级至五年级无法直接申请，入读小学二至五年级的学生，需要新加坡国际学生入学考试（AEIS），凭考试成绩插班进入新加坡小学二年级至五年级。外国学生无法申请新加坡政府小学六年级，只能降级到小学五年级。
新加坡公立小学为六年制。小学一年级到四年级是基础教育阶段，所有课程为必修课，有4门主课，包括英语、数学、科学和母语。小学三年级开始学习科学。
小学四年级开始，根据学生的母语、数学和科学程度，学生个别选修择适合自己的源流课程。
